Weeks 1,2: Things 1,2,3,4

It has taken me forever to post these initial comments. I feel like Dr. Seuss with my Thing 1,2, and 3. I consider myself a lifelong learner. I recall many years ago reading Stephen Covey's, The seven habits of highly effective people. There were some commonalities between those words of wisdom and the 7 1/2 Habits of successful lifelong learners. The attitude component resonated with me on a personal level, as well as how it pertains to my goals for my students. Attitude is everything! I will...I can...I do. It's never too late (or too soon) to learn something new. Habit 3, View problems as challenges; view every obstacle as a learning opportunity speaks directly toward each individual's attitude. As Confucius said, "Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Right now I feel I am at the beginning of that journey. My goal, of course, is Habit 7, Teach & mentor others, but since it has taken me so long to post these thoughts (months), I should really be striving toward Habit 1, Begin with the end in mind.

I did have some difficulty with my avatar...didn't particularly like the avatar choices and I felt like I really muddled through the directions to actually make it appear on my blog. It was much easier to set up the actual blog, but time-consuming to go through and choose all of the settings, fonts, etc. Hopefully I'll be a little speedier from now on. I registered my blog, but am having difficulty "finding" it with the URL. The URL address works perfectly when it is hyperlinked, but not in a stand alone search - I don't know why.
